After School Sports Coach 

Schedule: Part-time; Monday - Friday; 3.5hr shift between 1:00pm - 6:00pm
Start & End Date: 10/14/2024 - 6/4/2025
Location: Various School sites within the Pittsburg Unified School District
Expected Hourly Rate:  $20/hour
Curriculum: You will be coaching a competitive sports league for experienced student athletes. You will be coaching a sports rotation of soccer, basketball, volleyball, and flag football.

THE ROLE
  • Coach groups of students through competitive sports curriculum. 
  • Engage students in sports drills, games, and other activities. 
  • Supporting kids’ behavioral management needs.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with school administrators, teachers, and fellow coaches.
  • Leading outdoor lessons designed to increase excitement about learning.
  • Serve as a positive role model to the students to build kids’ self-esteem and emotional wellness.
ABOUT YOU
  • Experience coaching or playing one of the listed sports
  • Have been successful working with elementary and/or middle school kids.
  • Confidently manage groups of up to 20 students with minimal assistance.
  • Can improvise, adapt, and take initiative when needed.
  • Are approachable, empathetic, patient, and able to build trust with kids.
  • Present yourself as a confident leader and a positive role model.
  • Connect with students and foster positive learning experiences.
  • Pay close attention to student needs and adjust activities accordingly.
  • Ensure activities run smoothly and efficiently within allocated timeframes
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, complete and pass a Live-Scan background check, and TB screening.
  • Experience coaching students or playing one of the listed sports; having enough knowledge to teach experienced athletes: soccer, basketball, volleyball, flag football
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Willing to follow COVID-19 protocols outlined by the school.
