THE ROLE
As a Total Rewards Specialist, you will ensure the smooth operation of our compensation and benefits programs, supporting the attraction and retention of top talent. As a Total Rewards Specialist, you'll be a key contributor to open enrollment, the merit review process, and ensuring the competitiveness and compliance of our rewards offerings. This role works within the People Operations department directly reporting to the Sr. Director of People Operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact on employee satisfaction, and have strategic importance in attracting, retaining, and motivating talent. Also, analyze and solve complex data sets and develop creative solutions to ensure our rewards programs are competitive and compliant.

 

Responsibilities

  • Benefits Administration:
    • Coordinate and manage annual benefits open enrollment, including communication, vendor collaboration, and employee assistance.
    • Oversee the administration of health, wellness, retirement, and other benefit plans.
    • Process and reconcile benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations with providers and in the HRIS.
    • Respond to employee inquiries about benefits programs and policies, providing guidance and troubleshooting support.
  • Compensation Management:
    • Manage the annual merit review process, ensuring timelines, accuracy of calculations, and compliance with guidelines.
    • Conduct job analyses and market research to support job leveling and salary benchmarking.
    • Participate in compensation surveys and analyze findings to maintain market competitiveness.
    • Prepare compensation reports, analyses, and presentations as required.
  • Compliance & Program Improvement
    • Stay up-to-date on legal and regulatory changes related to compensation and benefits, ensuring program compliance.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance the employee experience of Total Rewards offerings.
 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, compensation, and benefits.
  • Experience with ACA reporting requirements
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated proficiency with Excel or other data analysis tools.
  • Strong familiarity with HRIS systems (ADP would be ideal)
  • Understanding of job evaluation and salary survey methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong understanding of California Benefits and compensation laws and regulations
  • Comfortable traveling at least once a quarter or as needed for company events, training, and meetings.

Preferred:

  • Professional designations in Compensation (CCP) or Benefits (CEBS) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with survey work and job benchmarking
  • Experience with processing offers and analyzing and refreshing pay grades

  • Understanding of California compensation and benefits laws
  • Comfortable traveling either regionally or statewide to attend company events and training throughout the year, with occasional overnight travel as needed (once a quarter)


The target annual base pay range for this position is $75,00 -$90,000. Final pay determinations may depend on various factors including, but not limited to, experience level, education, geographical location, knowledge, and skills.
